On April 6, 2026, at 9:51 in Tokyo, a black bear, probably a cub, was seen hurriedly tumbling down the slope toward Mt. Odake in front of the closed Odake Mountain Hut. That kind of close mountain edge sighting is exactly what has been showing up around Mount Kumotori and the ridgelines feeding into it.
