Shiga’s latest black bear report came on April 30, 2026 at Otsu Ikadachi Shimozaijicho, where 1 bear was seen moving from east to west along National Route 477. Earlier in April, the same Otsu district saw more bear activity around Ikadachi Kamizaijicho, including mistaken captures on April 14, which shows how active that corridor has been.

Most of the pressure has been around Otsu, Takashima, Nagahama, Ritto, and Koka, with reports clustering near roads, fields, and town edges. The busiest stretch came in November 2025 with 28 incidents, followed by June 2025 with 23, and the area has now recorded 183 black bear sightings overall.

え⁉️野洲に熊が出るなんて聞いた事ないです。篠原付近の日野川に洪水が起きたら大蛇が出るとか、昔聞かされたことありますが、、タヌキを見ても熊を見た事ありませんね。
