Kofu’s latest black bear report came on December 14, 2025 at Furusekimachi, where 1 black bear was seen. Earlier in the month, another bear was reported in Shingyojicho on December 8, 2025, and the same day a bear was also reported near the Shinkyoji cho community center in Nakado, where a resident described a bear about 1 meter long walking on a road late at night.

The busiest parts of the city have been Nakado, Wada cho, Usaguchi cho, and Sone Kyuryo Park, with more reports also coming from Kai Kissawa and the area near Yoshizawa Post Office in Kai City. Activity has peaked in November 2025, when 19 reports were logged, while December 2025 has already added 3 more, and Kofu has recorded 65 black bear sightings overall.
