Around 23:10 on December 3, 2025, a passerby in Machiyacho, Sano City, spotted a single bear moving east on the road. According to the Sano police, the bear was about 1 meter long and the scene was near the Sano Service Area on the Tohoku Expressway.

Around 17:00 on the 11th, a passerby in Machiya-cho, Sano City, spotted four bears moving into the eastern woodland near the east parking lot of the Mikamo Clean Center. Another report also described two bears running into a park in the same neighborhood.
