Around 10:30 AM on October 30, in a wooded area near Nihonmatsu City Melev? (Meishuuchi area), a witness in his 50s observed a bear about 1 m long emerging from the nearby woods toward a municipal road during road construction work. The bear did not cross the municipal road and disappeared back into the woods.
