On November 12 at about 07:15, a police officer spotted a bear about 70 cm long in a persimmon tree at Bandakadai, Shikado, Mitane. The bear was captured around 10:30. The location was about 50 meters from a nearby house and about 150 meters from Kotooka Junior High School; sightings had been reported repeatedly for three days.

At around 11:20 on 2025-11-11, a single bear was spotted near Kotooka Junior High School in Mitane (Kadanowari, Iwanakadai). A town office worker on patrol saw the bear up a persimmon tree; the animal was about 70 cm long and was roughly 30 meters from a nearby house and 100 meters from the school.

Around 11:00 on November 9, 2025, a bear was seen up in a tree in a field at Bandawakadai, Shikawatari, Mitane Town, and on November 10 at 10:50 a.m. a bear was also spotted on a local road in the same area. The sightings were about 100 meters from Kotooka Junior High School and about 30 meters from a nearby house; Noshiro Police Station has warned local residents to be careful.
