Around 17:40 on March 30, a single bear about 50 cm long was sighted on the grounds of a private residence in Asahiterairi, Aizumisato Town. When residents knocked on the window it fled toward a neighboring storehouse; the next morning (March 31) a similarly sized bear was found in nearby brush and police and town authorities are responding.
