According to the Fukushima Prefectural Police, at around 16:20 on March 30 a single bear was sighted in Yamagata Shindata (Yamagata Shindata), Inawashiro Town. A bear appearance was confirmed at the scene; there were no reports of injuries.

Around 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 28, along National Route 115 on the left side shoulder in the Naka no Hara area, Oaza Wakamiyacho, Inawashiro Town, a witness observed a single bear (about 1 meter in length) moving from Fukushima City toward Inawashiro Town in a vehicle. The bear's subsequent movements are unknown.

Around 3 p.m. on November 17, on the town road near the Izawa Tunnel North Side in Wakamiyacho, Inawashiro Town, a witness driving north saw two bears crossing the road from east to west (one about 1 m long, the other about 80 cm). The bears then left into the west-side mountain forest.

Around 07:00 on the 9th in Mitsuya, Inawashiro Town, a car driven by a woman collided with a bear about 80 cm long that ran out of brush on the west side of the road. The bear left toward the western woodland; the driver and one passenger were uninjured and the vehicle sustained only minor damage. Police are urging caution.
