He provided the information to Fukushima City Hall, and when city officials responded to the scene with him and inspected the area, it was confirmed to be bear scat.

In a woodland in Sakuramoto Aizawa, Fukushima City, on April 26 at about 09:25, a man in his 50s was attacked by a bear about 1 meter long and suffered injuries to both legs. He was taken to a hospital in Fukushima City and his life is not in danger; his wife, who was nearby at the time, was not injured. The bear fled into the woods afterwards.
