A woman driving through Terauchi Osakoji in Akita City sighted a bear about 1 meter long on a city road.

Observed from inside my car standing in the middle of the road. It wasn’t moving and was facing toward the temple grounds, but when it noticed the car it ran off into the bushes. I was at a distance so I couldn’t determine the exact size, but it appeared to be an adult over 1 m long.
