After police officers spotted the bear, it wandered through nearby rice fields and then left toward the west (Tamagawa); police patrolled by patrol car and warned residents.

Akita Central Police Station warned residents, reporting the nearest house was about 5 meters away and an elementary school about 750 meters away.
