On a farm road north of Kōdenbashi, heading toward an apple orchard, one cub of unknown body length was sighted.

Reflected eyes were seen in an apple orchard and a beast’s growl was heard. The species, body length, and direction of escape are unknown. When the city checked the scene, footprints of a four-legged animal (such as a raccoon) were found in a nearby field. No signs of an Asiatic black bear (Tsukinowaguma) were found.

On July 5 at around 14:25, a bear was sighted moving in Ozawaizawa, Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture.

While traveling on Apple Road from the Self-Defense Forces direction toward Shimoyunoguchi, I witnessed one cub (about 50–60 cm in length) emerge from the woods near Hirosaki City Cemetery Park, run alongside my car for a short time, and then re-enter the woods.

While driving, a juvenile bear about 80 cm long crossed directly in front of the vehicle. Direction of escape unknown. (Same location and same size as the sighting on June 30.)
