Posted: This morning I found bear tracks. They came down from near the stone tomb area and continued toward the Samagawa area. The tracks are new, likely from last night to this morning. Also, judging by the size, it is probably an adult. The tracks are on the old road behind my house. In over 60 years, I have never seen bear tracks on the snow near my home. It happened to be snowing, so the tracks were visible; otherwise I wouldn’t have noticed. Terrifying.

[Posted] As with yesterday, a cub climbed the persimmon tree and ate the core. It briefly reacts to noises from my house about 30 m away but does not run away. Authorities were notified yesterday. Nearby residents were informed via the alert network.

[Post] While driving on the Akita Expressway northbound near 168 km post, the bear jumped over the guardrail; I slowed, it noticed me, and it jumped back over and left. Size a little over 1 m.
