On Monday, June 8, at around 8:20 p.m., a witness (male in his 60s) sighted one bear (approximately 1 m in body length) on the roadway in Uchimach in Machinawazaka, Fukushima City. The bear subsequently left the area heading west.

Around 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, in Wariishi, Machinabasaka, Fukushima City, the caller (male in his 70s) discovered what appeared to be bear scat and reported it to the police. He provided the information to Fukushima City Hall, and when city officials responded to the scene with him and inspected the area, it was confirmed to be bear scat.
