On February 4, 2026, tracks resembling a bear were found in the snow in a field in Shiraishi-cho, Hakodate, Hokkaido. Two tracks measuring 14 cm and 10 cm in width were confirmed; there are no sightings or injuries reported, and police warned that a house is about 30 meters from the site.
