On 2025-02-04, two bear-like footprints (widths 14 cm and 10 cm) were found in the snow in a field in Shiraishi-cho, Hakodate; a nearby resident reported them to the police. There have been no sightings or injuries so far, and the police warned residents because a house is about 30 meters from the site.
