At around 19:40 on April 29, 2026, in Mori, Toyama City, a woman in her 40s was attacked by a bear that suddenly appeared while she was walking her dog; she suffered scratches to her face, head and neck and was taken to hospital. Her life is not in danger, and police and hunting association members searched the area but the bear's whereabouts remain unknown.
