At around 07:40 on the 27th, a man in his 30s driving through Onomoto, Nishiaizu Town (Minaminomae Otsu) spotted a single bear about 0.5 meters long sitting in a tree on the east side of the road. As of 11:30 it remained in the tree, no injuries or property damage have been reported, and police and the town are conducting patrols and vigilance near the scene.
