On Saturday, May 16 at approximately 7:37 a.m., on Prefectural Route Sukagawa–Nihonmatsu in Sugita-machi 3-chome, Nobenmatsu City (No. 52), a witness (woman in her 30s) driving a vehicle observed one bear (about 1.5 m in body length) walking on the prefectural road from east to west. The bear then entered the brush on the west side.
