Around 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, inside a private residence in Tanakajima, Kamigou-cho, Kitakata City, a witness (a man in his 50s) saw a bear about 50 cm in body length inside the home upon returning home. Subsequently, the bear did not move from inside the residence. At 8:45 AM on Thursday, February 12, it was captured. No human or property damage has been confirmed. Even in winter, bears are appearing. Do not leave attractants (vegetables, kitchen waste, etc.) around the residence, and ensure doors and windows are secure and conduct regular patrols of vacant houses and storerooms.
