Around 06:30 on the 4th, a woman searching for her pet dog and following footprints was attacked by a bear that appeared from the roadside on a road near her home in Isawa, Ōshū; she sustained scratches to her face. The woman was transported to the Prefectural Advanced Critical Care and Emergency Center in Yahaba and her life is not in danger.
