On the morning of November 11, several reports were received of a 'bear-like' animal on the south side of Mount Daizokyoji in Isawa-cho, Fuefuki City, Yamanashi. City officials are currently checking the area.

At about 08:05 on 2025-11-11, a resident in Sakurai-cho, Kofu City, spotted one bear (body length 50–60 cm) in a home's garden. The bear fled to the northern woodland, and the city and police alerted residents by disaster radio, patrolled the area, and installed warning signs.

A box trap was installed in the fields near the site, where a bear presence was confirmed close to a residential area and a high school. On November 7 a bear track was found in a vegetable field about 1.2 km north of the site, and the city urged people to carry bells or spray and not leave persimmons in the fields.
