Around 3:45 p.m. on November 20, in the Daihata area of Shin-Yashiki, Aizu-Misato Town, a witness in their 70s (a man) saw a bear about 50 cm long in the bushes while driving a vehicle. The bear's subsequent movements are unknown.

At around 15:50 on the 17th, a man in his 40s reported to the town office that he had sighted a single bear about 0.5 meters long running around the parking lot of a nursing care facility in Tsurunobe Aza Hirocho, Aizumisato. The bear ran around the parking lot and then fled to the west; Shintsuru Elementary and Shintsuru Junior High, located about 100 meters away, canceled dismissal and handed students directly to their guardians.

On Nov 17 in the Niitsuru area of Aizumisato Town a bear was sighted near JR Tadami Line Niitsuru Station and close to Niitsuru elementary and junior high schools. The bear was seen crossing the grounds of an elderly welfare facility north of the town office; schools held back students and handed them to parents, and police kept watch at the station. The bear was estimated at about 50 cm in size.
