At around 17:50 on November 30, 2025, a bear-like animal about 1 meter long was sighted in the urban area of Kamimachi 3-chome, Chichibu City, and a local resident reported it. The sighting was reported to have occurred in an area with schools and kindergartens.

Around 17:15 on November 25, 2025, a local resident sighted a bear among trees in the Une district of Yokose Town, Saitama Prefecture. The town and the hunting association investigated and found footprints believed to be from a bear cub; the site is about 500 meters southwest of Yokose Station.
