Around 17:35 on the 14th, a man in his 40s at home sighted a bear about 1.5 meters long in a park in Niya-Hinaicho, Akita City. According to the Akita Central Police, the nearest house was about 15 meters away; patrol cars are monitoring the area and residents have been warned.

[Report] Entered the No. 2 park within the municipal housing area from the Omoriyama Zoo direction and tried to enter the entrances of buildings 7 and 8 of the municipal housing, but the doors were closed so it could not get in. It saw its reflection in the door, appeared to be startled, stood up, made a U-turn, and headed toward the national highway.
