Possible sighting, we heard something similar to a bear vocalisation and heavy steps in the weeds behind the stine japanese lantern. Also on the same road we heard possible bear cubs.

A young bear about 70 cm long. Photographed through a screen door in the shade of a tree. It was eating leaves and roots of plants in the mountains near houses. Image quality is poor.
