In Nishimeya Village, Kawahara flat area: While driving on Prefectural Route 28, a single bear cub entered the road from the mountains on the right side in the direction of travel. When the vehicle stopped briefly, the cub immediately ran back into the mountain.

A staff member at the Iwakigawa Dam Integrated Management Office sighted one cub near the staff parking lot. The cub slipped under a fence installed at the staff parking lot and ran toward the dam. The information has already been reported to the Nishimeya Village Office by telephone.
