At around 18:10 on July 17, 2025, a bear was sighted near Hirata (south of Wazuka Elementary School) in Wazuka Town. The town noted that there have been numerous sightings centered in Kizugawa City since June and is urging nearby residents and passersby to be cautious.

Around 18:10 on July 17, 2025, a bear was sighted near Hirata (Nakashō) in Wazuka Town, Kyoto Prefecture, south of Wazuka Elementary School. The town issued a warning and urged people to report any sightings to the municipal Construction and Agricultural Division.
