On December 18, 2025 at around 18:30, Saitama Prefectural Police reported that a bear-like animal about 1 meter long was sighted at the roadside in Takinoiri, Moroyama Town, Saitama. Residents in the area have been urged to remain cautious.

Around 21:00 on November 24, a bear-like animal was sighted in Moro-hongo, Moroyama. The animal was about 1 meter long and was seen running along a river. The area is near a station and a university hospital, and since deer and wild boar also appear locally, police say other animals cannot be ruled out and have urged caution.

At around 18:15 on the 15th, a bear-like animal about 1.2 meters long was seen crossing Prefectural Route 41 in Kumai, Hatoyama Town, observed from inside a car. Saitama Prefectural Police warned people to be cautious when going out and advised on how to respond if a bear is spotted.

Around 12:30 PM on November 8, 2025, a juvenile bear about 60 cm long was sighted near an observation deck in Takinoiri, Moroyama Town, according to Saitama Prefectural Police. It is believed to be the first bear sighting in the town this year.
