Around 18:20 on May 17, a bear was sighted entering the grounds of a resident's home in Kaminaguri, Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture. A woman photographed the bear and reported it to the Hanno police station; police estimated the bear's body length at about 1 meter and no one was injured.

Around 17:40 on December 6, 2025, a hiker reported sighting a bear-like animal on a trail in Kamikagemori, Chichibu City, and called emergency services. The location is near the foot of the mountain close to a river, and authorities have urged people in the area to be cautious.
