Around 12:30 on the 23rd, a person fishing on the opposite bank sighted two animals believed to be bears, each about 50 cm long, in the stands of pampas grass on the Abukuma River riverbed in Tamura-machi Miyota, Koriyama City, Fukushima. No damage has been reported; police are patrolling the area by patrol car and have provided information to Koriyama City to raise awareness.

At around 11:30 on the 16th, a man working on the riverbank of Namegawa in Miyanomori, Sukagawa City, spotted a single bear about 1 m long. The bear entered a forest north of the riverbank; no injuries have been reported and police are warning people in the area.

At around 03:00 on the 2nd, at a company site in Nakatsuzawa, Sukagawa City, Fukushima Prefecture, a man in his 50s in a car witnessed one bear (about 1 meter long) running from west to east. No injuries or property damage have been reported; the police informed Sukagawa City and are conducting patrols near the scene.
