At around 03:45 on the 18th, a man in his 60s driving on Ōtaki Bridge in Karuizawa, Odate, Akita, spotted three bears (one about 1.0 m, two about 50 cm). The bears were about 10 meters from a nearby house; police notified related agencies and conducted patrols and public warnings to alert residents.
