After descending Mount Moiwa and heading toward Yamanohana between the 6th and 5th stations, a black cub about 50 cm long was hiding in the sasa grass. The black fur on its ears was fluffy. The bear stayed still. I was too scared to take a photo at the time—seriously. But thinking back now, I found the fluffiness kind of cute.

On the night of November 2, multiple bear sightings were reported in a residential area of Chuo Ward, Sapporo. A roughly 1.5-meter bear was seen behaving threateningly in the bushes of Fushimi Inari Shrine, and drivers also reported sightings near Miyano-mori. Police searched the area but did not capture or locate the bear at the scene.
