On Thursday, June 18 at around 4:10 p.m., in the Otoe-machi Shimo-Ameya area of Aizuwakamatsu City, a witness (male, in his 60s) observed one bear (approximately 50 cm in body length) crossing the road while driving. The bear’s movements after the sighting are unknown.

On Saturday, May 16 at around 1:30 p.m., in woodland in the Nishiteyama area of Homa, Aizu-Misato Town, a witness (male, in his 70s) observed one bear (about 1 m in body length) climbing up the hillside while driving. The subsequent movements of the bear are unknown.

While driving a vehicle, the observer sighted one bear (approximately 1 meter in body length) climbing up into the forested hills.

At about 09:45 on the 7th, a man in his 40s spotted a single bear approximately 50 cm long on the grounds of the management building at Seseragi Green Park in Ietō, Aizumisato Town. The bear ran northeast and its whereabouts are unknown; no human injuries were reported. Police have urged local residents to remain vigilant.
