At around 08:23 on the 1st, a single bear roughly 1 meter long was spotted under a persimmon tree on the west side of the main gate road of Sukagawa City Niida Elementary School; it then walked into the nearby woods to the west. No injuries or damage to property have been reported. Police are patrolling the area and the Sukagawa Board of Education has suspended outdoor activities at the school for the week.
