On Monday, May 18 at approximately 11:10 a.m., in the Nagata 2-chome area of Nihonmatsu City, a witness (woman in her 30s) observed a bear (about 1 m in body length) on the premises of a residence while at home; the bear was later seen entering the forest to the northeast.
