Mount Suisho has recently seen a black bear cub take tents and food in the Arimine area of Toyama City on August 20, 2025, following an earlier camp incident at Tarodaira Campground on August 19, 2025 where a bear appeared and took campers' gear. On March 6, 2026, the prefecture announced it would capture bears in the Arimine area this spring after numerous sightings and human injuries, and on March 5, 2026 a small bear was spotted in brush about 500 m from the community center in Shimosasahara, Yatsuo in Toyama City.

Most of the activity has centered on the Arimine and Toyama City side of the mountain, with other summer reports around Toyama showing bears lingering on hiking trails and a mother bear with cubs blocking the route. The busiest month in the record was August 2025 with 7 incidents, followed by July 2025 with 5, and the area has recorded 16 black bear sightings overall.
