Iwami Ginzan World Heritage Center is watching the most recent black bear report from Oda City’s Oshirocho Oe, where on May 11, 2026 at around 10:00 a.m. one bear about 1 meter long was found in the precincts of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine. On the same morning, another bear about 50 centimeters long was reported on a municipal road in Ooya, Ooshiro cho, Ota City, showing that bears were moving through both shrine grounds and roads in the same area.
