About 3–5 meters in front of him, a black bear that looked like a large, well-fed dog curled up ran across from the river side (Gongenyama) to the mountain on the Asaminami Ward side across the road. He said it was the first time he had seen one in this area. The driver’s sighting was reported to the Asakita Police Station duty officer at 18:20.
