At Akuto Shrine, the most immediate report came from Minoh Gein 3 chome on April 19, 2026 at 14:00, when a person was threatened by a black bear with a low growl while water ran on the right and a slope rose on the left, and the animal was watching from halfway up that slope. Another sharp note came from Hattanda, Terado cho, Muko City on December 11, 2025, where two black bears were reported near a road, adding to the string of recent appearances along the edge of town.
The heavier activity has been around Muko City, Kyotanabe, Kameoka, and Nagaokakyo, with late year reports clustering in places like Hattanda, Oharano Kitakasugacho, Takigi Takagi, Fugenji Chigusahara, and Kofudai. The area has recorded 183 black bear sightings overall, and the monthly pace was busiest in November 2025 with 20 incidents, followed by October 2025 with 12, before staying active into December 2025 with 6.
