At around 13:50 on May 4, a single bear about 1 meter long was spotted along Route 49 near Ogasawara Goten-yama (Ogasawa), Inawashiro Town. No human or property damage has been confirmed so far, and the police have warned the public to be cautious.

Around 21:30 on the 7th, a driver spotted one bear (about 1 meter long) on the opposite lane of National Route 49 in Aza Nagurayama, Okinosawa, Inawashiro Town, Fukushima. No injuries or damage have been reported; the bear's subsequent movements are unknown and police are informing the town and conducting patrols.

Around 4:25 p.m. on July 26, on National Route 49 in Omouzawa, Inawashiro Town, a female witness driving south toward Aizuwakamatsu observed a bear about 50 cm long cross the road from west to east. The bear then moved toward the east toward Lake Inawashiro.
