At around 13:50 on May 4, a single bear about 1 meter long was spotted along Route 49 near Ogasawara Goten-yama (Ogasawa), Inawashiro Town. No human or property damage has been confirmed so far, and the police have warned the public to be cautious.

On Monday, May 4 at around 1:50 p.m., in the mountain forest on the west side of National Route 49 within Goten-yama, Oogisawa, Inawashiro Town, a witness traveling northbound on Route 49 by vehicle sighted one bear (approximately 1 m in body length) in the forest on the west side of the road. The direction in which the bear later left is unknown.

Around 21:30 on the 7th, a driver spotted one bear (about 1 meter long) on the opposite lane of National Route 49 in Aza Nagurayama, Okinosawa, Inawashiro Town, Fukushima. No injuries or damage have been reported; the bear's subsequent movements are unknown and police are informing the town and conducting patrols.
