Around 11:20 a.m. on November 14, a cub about 70–80 cm long was sighted on a municipal road in Katsuraoka-cho, Otaru City, Hokkaido. The cub ran past approximately 5 meters in front of a man changing a tire in front of his house, then disappeared southward into the residential area; city staff and hunters have been dispatched and are searching but have not found it.
