At around 07:40 on November 20, 2025, a firefighter on patrol found bear-like footprints in the snow near residences in Katsuraoka-cho, Otaru City. The prints measured about 10 cm long and 6 cm wide, were roughly 20 meters from a house, and additional tracks were found nearby; police have warned residents to be cautious.
