Mountain forest; body length about 1 m; 50 m from a house. While several residents were checking bear signs outdoors, a branch broke; a bear was seen climbing a dogwood tree and feeding, breaking branches. It fed for over an hour, then slowly descended and left toward the eastern woods. Witness distance about 20 m.
