On Friday, May 29 at approximately 5:45 PM, in the Hiragata area of Minato-machi, Aizuwakamatsu City, on National Route 294 (about 1 km north of Kuromori Tunnel), a witness (male, in his 50s) while driving observed one bear (about 1 m in length) on the left (east) side of the road. The bear entered the mountains east of that location, and its subsequent movements are unknown.
