According to the city, at around 12:45 PM on November 12 a single young bear was sighted near a prefectural road intersection in Kamimachi Minami 1-chome, Higashine City. Police also reported that at around 10:00 PM on November 11 a bear about 1 meter long was sighted roughly 230 meters southeast of the Kawamukai community center in Nogawa; no human or property damage has been confirmed so far.
