Multiple sightings of an approximately 1-meter adult Asiatic black bear were reported in Sendō (Saeki Ward, Hiroshima City), with additional reports last night and this morning near Misugi and around the Hiroshima Botanical Garden. Ten local elementary and junior high schools were temporarily closed; police and ward staff are patrolling and bear rangers are conducting on-site investigations.
