In Fujinomiya City, after an adult male bear was captured and dispatched on October 27, at 18:50 on October 30 a citizen driving a car reported sighting an about 80 cm animal believed to be a bear cub near the Minobu Line tunnel in the Shimo-Inako area. Later that day at 21:40 a bear-like animal 80–90 cm long was reported west of Ozaki Tunnel in the Uchibo area, and on October 31 a sighting of a presumed cub was reported north of a convenience store about 3 km east of Ozaki Tunnel.
