At around 16:15 on January 29, 2026, a woman in a car sighted one bear about 1 meter long on an embankment beside the road in Ashimaki, Oto, Aizuwakamatsu City. The bear entered the woodland east of the road afterward; no damage has been reported. Police are patrolling the area and advising residents to be cautious.
